Ukrainian Forces Strike Ammunition Depots in Russia’s Belgorod Region: Inside the Successful Operation.
Ukraine’s Defense Operations
According to UATV: Ukraine’s military continues to target enemy assets both on Russian soil and within temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories. These strikes have destroyed ammunition warehouses, command posts, and other critical infrastructure, inflicting severe losses on Russian troops.
On June 9, 2023, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported successful attacks carried out the previous day, June 8, 2023. The operations eliminated the following:
- Ammunition depots near Prokhorovka in the Belgorod region;
- 1,370 Russian occupiers;
- 75 artillery systems;
- 4 multiple rocket launchers.
Additionally, on June 5, 2023, Ukrainian forces struck fuel storage tanks near the port of Mariupol, destroying 8 tanks and damaging 9 others. Further strikes targeted enemy command posts in the areas of Nikolskoye and Shevchenko Pershe in Donetsk region, as well as Naumovka in Belgorod region and Iskra in Kursk region.
Ukrainian forces also hit enemy drone control centers near Shevchenko Pershe (Donetsk region), Zaliznychne (Zaporizhzhia region), and Oleshky (Kherson region). A logistics hub was destroyed near Fedorivka in Donetsk region, while supply depots were eliminated near Mykhailivka in Luhansk region and Hynivka in Zaporizhzhia region.

These strikes highlight Ukraine’s proactive response to aggression, systematically degrading the enemy’s military capacity.
The continued targeting of key infrastructure and personnel underscores Ukraine’s sustained campaign to weaken Russian forces.
