The coalition of 30 countries is ready to provide security guarantees for Ukraine: A condition for the start

According to ТСН: More than 30 countries that are part of the so-called 'Coalition of the Willing' acknowledge their potential roles in ensuring Ukraine's security. However, the actual implementation of this format is only possible after a ceasefire.

Comment from the President of Ukraine

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, commented on the discussion about possible international forces for Ukraine and emphasized that the countries had agreed not to publish the details of the relevant document.

"We have 30 plus countries in the 'Coalition of the Willing'. And every country largely understands its role or the extent of support and who is ready to provide troops to Ukraine," said the president.

Zelensky also noted that the decision not to publish the details was made jointly by all participants of the coalition, as it concerns security guarantees that can only come into force after the end of hostilities.

"We agreed among ourselves that we would not disseminate this document because the 'Coalition of the Willing' has decided: It is ready to provide Ukraine with security guarantees only after a ceasefire. That was a joint decision," Zelensky explained.

The head of state noted that the participation of various countries depends on their constitutional restrictions and national laws.

"There are different statutes according to their respective constitutions, which is why countries can offer different things," he said.

Joint Security Support Plan

According to the president, the work within this format is being conducted under the leadership of France and the United Kingdom, which have prepared a joint security support plan.

"They developed this joint plan, but many countries are actually ready to help. It's about security - on land, in the air, and at sea," Zelensky emphasized.

He added that some states have expressed their readiness to provide support on land as well as in airspace and maritime areas, but the specific implementation formats will only be known after the ceasefire.

Earlier, it was reported that the USA is allegedly ready to provide Ukraine security guarantees based on Article 5 of NATO. According to media reports, they are confirmed by Congress and have legal force. Donald Trump stated at the White House that granting such guarantees is a crucial factor for the successful implementation of the peace agreement.

Thus, the Coalition of the Willing is actively working on a format for international support for Ukraine. So far, the issue of security guarantees remains unclear, but now, thanks to the efforts of several countries, a clearer definition of the roles of the participants is becoming possible. The end of hostilities remains crucial, as it will open the way for real steps towards security and support.
