The commander of the airborne battalion talked about what a captured occupier offered him money for.
In Kurakhove, near the front line, the 46th separate brigade of airborne troops and other units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are stationed. The army TV channel demonstrated the work of the command and observation point of one of the battalions of the 46th brigade. Here, paratroopers must repel assaults every day, open fire on enemy infantry, and evacuate the wounded.
The commander of the airborne battalion narrated an interesting case. Most Russians who fall into captivity fear for their lives and do not surrender. But this time, everything was different.
'The captive Ilya speaks well with us, he keeps his eyes open, hands free. He has already relaxed, apologized, and offered to make our life easier with a short break for smoking. He pulled out money, about 60 thousand, and said: 'I want to buy a phone.' I replied: 'I don’t need your money, put it back in your pocket,' - said the commander.
According to the soldier, captives have their documents and phones taken away, but Russians keep their money with them because they fear it will be stolen.
