Commander of the elite SSO group who died in Kursk region. Remembering Yevhen Lemeshenko.
Every day at 9 am, Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Yevhen Lemeshenko.
In the Kursk region on September 16, 2024, the commander of the elite group of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Plast member, 29-year-old Yevhen Lemeshenko (Pechenih) died. This was reported by the head of the Regional Plast Board Yurii Yuzich.
Yevhen Lemeshenko was born in the city of Svitlovodsk in Kirovohrad region, but a year later his family moved to a permanent residence in Fastiv.
He received a higher education as a mechanical engineer at the National University of Food Technologies in Kyiv.
Since childhood, he was engaged in sports, attending football section classes. He worked as a physical education and sports teacher at Fastiv School No. 7.
The head of the Regional Plast Board said that Lemeshenko underwent the Plast youth training in the 37th kurin named after Mykola Mikhnovsky.
Yevhen was a participant in many Plast camps and trainings, in particular, in Kholodny Yar. An instructor and osaul (bunchuzhniy) at one of the most popular youth camps of Plast - "Legion - military-patriotic education".
He completed almost all possible trainings of Plast youth educators, including the interregional camp "Forest School". He was a Plast youth educator and the head of "Plast" in Fastiv in Kyiv region (that is, the head of the local Plast movement branch).
«In his biography, Yevhen wrote: "I took my plastic oath. I am sure that this is just the beginning, I will change the world for the better, cultivate Ukrainian traditions and customs, help develop "Plast", and not deviate from the chosen path!"» - quoted Yuzich.
According to Yuzich, Yevhen Lemeshenko was one of the best Plast military members.
«My comrade from the "Order of the Iron Spurs" kurin. Since childhood, he has undergone excellent training in the military-patriotic club "Kaskad". Hand-to-hand combat coach and winner of many competitions - from free fighting to Cossack martial arts», - wrote Yuzich.
Yevhen Lemeshenko went to defend Ukraine from the first days of the full-scale invasion, although he had "bron" as a teacher. Initially, he volunteered for the 208th Territorial Defense Battalion, in the quick response group led by his coach and mentor Yurii Pustovii.
Later, he continued his service in the 250th TrO battalion as part of the reconnaissance platoon in the position of reconnaissance unit commander.
After completing the full-fledged Q-course of the SSO, he began service in the 73rd SSO Center, where he became the group commander.
He died on September 16 in a direct combat with the enemy during the execution of a combat mission in the village of Obukhivka, Korenevsky district of the Kursk region.
