Compensation for Damaged Housing: MP Announced Alarming News.
Under the "eRecovery" program, the state cannot afford to pay citizens larger sums, as the maximum compensation amount for a damaged house is 500 thousand hryvnias, and for an apartment - 350 thousand hryvnias. This was announced by MP Olena Shuliak.
Currently, the maximum payout amount under the "eRecovery" program is 500 thousand hryvnias for a damaged house and 350 thousand hryvnias – for an apartment.
Currently, applications totaling over 8 billion hryvnias have been approved. Compensations have been received by more than 73 thousand Ukrainian families, and many more will receive them in the future.
To date, 11 thousand certificates have been issued for 17.2 billion hryvnias, and the average amount of a housing certificate for housing repairs is 1.6 million hryvnias.
The "eRecovery" program may be suspended due to insufficient funds in the state budget for 2025. Only 500 million hryvnias are earmarked for subsidies to local governments, and for housing certificates and the implementation of the third stage of the program - nothing.
Olena Shuliak suggests allocating 10 billion hryvnias to "eRecovery", but the Ministry of Recovery is asking for much more - over 40 billion hryvnias. Despite the possibility of a smaller amount, the MPs will do everything possible to ensure the program is not frozen.
The "eRecovery" program was launched in May 2023 with the goal of providing compensation to Ukrainians for housing destroyed or damaged as a result of military actions.
Applications for the restoration of damaged housing can be submitted by owners of destroyed housing in temporarily occupied territories or combat zones through the International Register of Losses.
The government has also provided for the possibility of submitting applications for the restoration of damaged housing under the "eRecovery" program for people who do not have access to the "Diia" mobile application.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, current recovery needs in Ukraine amount to 148 billion dollars.
