Can the Enemy Break Through? Ukraine Maintains Control Over Kupiansk.
Assaults on Kupiansk: The City Remains Under Ukrainian Control
According to Novyny.live: Russian forces are attempting to push into Kupiansk, but the city stays firmly in the hands of Ukraine's Defense Forces. Fighting continues, yet the enemy has achieved no tactical gains. According to Andriy Besedin, head of the Kupiansk City Military Administration, the adversary is trying to infiltrate the city in small groups across the Oskil River. Besedin emphasized that the enemy has not secured any tactical successes. Full control over both the right and left banks of Kupiansk remains with Ukrainian troops.
Kupiansk endures daily shelling from Russian forces, creating severe risks for civilians. On June 29, Russian invaders launched an airstrike on Kharkiv's Kholodnohirskyi district, killing a 23-year-old woman and injuring 12 others. Additionally, a 75-year-old woman died in the village of Hubarivka, another tragic result of the occupiers' aggressive actions.
Kupiansk's Strategic Importance
Kupiansk remains a critical strategic point, and Ukrainian forces continue to fight for its defense. Despite relentless attacks from Russian troops, the city stays under the control of the Ukrainian army, demonstrating the defenders' resilience and determination. This location holds strategic value for both sides in the conflict, as it provides access to key transportation routes.
The situation in Kupiansk highlights the ongoing intensity of the war in eastern Ukraine, where combat operations have persisted for an extended period. The actions of Ukrainian forces, who continue to hold their positions, reflect their readiness to resist and underscore the importance of supporting civilians amid wartime conditions.
