Dollar Exchange Rate Declines in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: On February 25, 2023, the National Bank of Ukraine lowered the official dollar exchange rate to 43.2648 UAH/USD. This adjustment followed a similar downward trend in commercial banks, where the selling rate fell to 43.49 UAH/USD and the buying rate dropped to 43.00 UAH/USD. The Ukrainian currency has been subject to significant volatility since the onset of the full-scale invasion, with the central bank actively managing the official rate.
Parallel Market Dollar Rate
On the same day, trading on the parallel market opened with the dollar at 43.233 UAH for sales and 43.125 UAH for purchases. The rate fluctuated throughout the day. Around 12:00 PM on February 25, the buying rate was 43.20 UAH/USD and the selling rate was 43.12 UAH/USD. In the afternoon, the parallel market rate increased, reaching 43.25 UAH/USD for sales and 43.167 UAH/USD for purchases.
These shifts in both the official and parallel market rates highlight the ongoing volatility within Ukraine's foreign exchange market.
