Currency Rates: What to Expect from the Dollar's Value in February.
According to Taras Lesovyi, head of the treasury department of Globus Bank, the situation in Ukraine's currency market will be active in February but without sharp fluctuations. There may be some surprises, but overall the market expects stability. By spring, a period of 'rate plateaus' may occur, where the official rate will remain nearly unchanged, staying more or less stable.
Currently, there are reasons to believe that the month will be active, but not as 'tense' as the beginning of January. The market expects that by spring there may be a period of 'rate plateaus', where the official rate, despite situational minor changes, will remain more or less stable,' - summarized Lesovyi.
In Taras Lesovyi's view, the dollar rate in Ukraine in February will fluctuate but within the range of 42-42.4 hryvnias. Thus, for 100 dollars in hryvnias in February, it will be necessary to pay from 4200 to 4240 hryvnias, and for 1000 dollars - from 42000 to 42400 hryvnias.
Serhii Mamedov, Vice President of the Association of Ukrainian Banks and Chairman of the Board of Globus Bank, claims that the dollar and euro exchange rates in the first quarter of 2025 will remain controlled. According to his forecast, nothing catastrophic is expected in the first months of 2025, as the dollar rate at the end of March is projected to be in the corridor of 42 to 42.8 hryvnias per dollar.
