Russian Interior Ministry Cadets Deployed to Guard Oil Plants from Drone Threats.
Moscow Interior Ministry University Students Assigned to Protect Strategic Sites
According to UATV: Senior cadets from the Moscow University of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs are being mobilized to safeguard critical infrastructure, including oil refineries, fuel depots, and other strategically important facilities. Their primary mission is to identify individuals who might be documenting strike locations of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
According to reports, these patrols will focus on detecting and detaining civilians acting as spotters or coordinators for drone attacks. This measure comes in response to heightened risks facing national strategic assets. Additionally, the university's leadership is considering counting these deployments as part of the cadets' academic training.
Escalating Tensions and Partisan Activity
A representative of the partisan group 'Atesh' commented on the situation, stating:
“The regime is simply using them as free human shields to protect oligarchic oil depots.”
This highlights the difficult circumstances cadets face while carrying out security duties at critical sites. Meanwhile, agents of the 'Atesh' movement have also conducted reconnaissance on three military infrastructure targets in Crimea, underscoring the urgency behind the new security protocols.
The decision to involve cadets in guarding strategic facilities signals a tightening of security measures amid the ongoing conflict and the growing threat from drone warfare. This development not only reflects Russia's internal security policies but also mirrors the evolving military situation in the region, particularly in Crimea, where partisan activity is on the rise. For these cadets, their role in national defense comes with significant risks and responsibilities.
