The legendary poet told how the traffic police paid him for a song written on order.

In his anniversary interview for the publication 'Gromadske', Vadym Kryshchenko shared an interesting story about receiving an unusual 'reward' from the traffic police for a song written at their request.
The poet admitted that he often wrote songs on order because he wanted to eat not just soup but also roast. Once he wrote a song for the traffic police that pleased their chief, who decided to thank the author in an unconventional way.
'For example, I wrote a song for our traffic police on order. The chief of the traffic police said it was a good song. And he issued me a pass, presented it with the words that wherever I was stopped, I could show it and I would be let through. I thanked him. But I said, there is one thing: I simply do not have a car. And then he took his business card and wrote something on it and put his stamp on it. I put this business card in my pocket,' - Kryshchenko recounts.
After some Time, Kryshchenko was able to use this 'unique document' when he was given a ride in a 'Moskvitsh' and got caught in a traffic jam.
'There was once a road repair from the Paton Bridge to Leningrad Square (now Darnytsia). There was a bypass road. I see everything is blocked. There was a narrow strip to pass through. Probably, only big deputies were allowed to pass. I was being given a ride in a 'Moskvitsh'. I thought I would try. I asked if we could pass? I was refused. Then I showed this business card with the stamp. Then they let us through. You see, the business card came in handy,' - the poet laughs.
Vadym Kryshchenko also shared about his friendship with singer Dmytro Hnatiuk, with whom they had been friends for the last 20 years of the artist's life. He often visited the master at his home.
In addition, the poet talked about why he was offended by Ivo Bobul, one of the performers of his songs.
It is reminded that a concert is planned in honor of Vadym Kryshchenko's 90th anniversary at the 'Ukraine' Palace on April 12, featuring famous Ukrainian artists.
