Ukraine received a power station from Lithuania: 149 shipments for energy system repairs.
Receiving equipment for a thermal power plant
According to ТСН: Ukraine received a complete set of equipment for a thermal power plant from Lithuania. The transfer process took 11 months and included 149 shipments with a total weight of 2399 tons.
Among the cargo were 40 oversized items, including heavy transformers and stators weighing approximately 172 tons each.
"The provided equipment helped to carry out emergency repairs in several regions of Ukraine, where the energy infrastructure was significantly damaged due to Russian strikes. This logistical operation was coordinated through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM),"
the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy stated in a message.
Currently, the total EU support for Ukraine's energy sector includes the delivery of 9500 generators and 7200 transformers through the UCPM mechanism.
Previously, the Ukrainian government reported that by December 24 it plans to redirect up to 1 GW of released electricity for household needs.
The government is also working to increase electricity imports, restore generation damaged by enemy attacks, and boost individual generation to ensure stable energy supply during the holidays.
Receiving this equipment is an important step in restoring Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which has suffered significant losses due to hostilities. The authorities continue to work on strengthening energy security, which is critically important during winter, when electricity consumption increases.
