The Capture of Maduro: How the US Prepared a Special Operation with a Rehearsal at a Replica of the Residence.
According to ТСН: The operation to capture Nicolas Maduro was prepared for several months and resembled the plot of a spy thriller. Special units of the US created an exact replica of Maduro's residence to practice all stages of capturing the Venezuelan dictator.
The Axios publication revealed exclusive details of this captivating mission.
The order to begin the operation came at 10:46 PM on Friday, Eastern Time. Donald Trump sent a brief message:
‘Good luck and Godspeed’, which sent 150 planes into the sky and changed the course of Venezuelan history.
Spies in the Surroundings and Knowledge of Favorites
Preparations for the assault began long before the operation itself. According to reports, a small group of CIA agents was integrated into Venezuela as early as August 2025.
Their work helped gain an ‘impressive understanding’ of Maduro's life. The Americans knew everything:
where he sleeps and where he travels;
what he eats and what he wears;
even the habits of his pets.
Rehearsal on the Model of the 'Fortress'
While the agents gathered data, US special forces were training at a specially built training ground.
‘They actually built a house identical to the one they entered, with all the safes’, Trump said.
The operation was planned to take place four days earlier, but it was postponed due to bad weather.
Chronicle of the Assault: 100 Feet Above the Sea
On the night of the attack, helicopters with the ‘extraction team’ (special forces and FBI agents) flew over the Caribbean Sea at an altitude of 30 meters to avoid radar.
They were covered by fighters, bombers, and drones, which destroyed air defense systems along the way. In the vicinity of Maduro's residence, the Americans remotely cut off the power supply, plunging everything into darkness.
During the approach, the helicopters came under fire. One of the helicopters was damaged but managed to continue flying.
47 Seconds to the ‘Panic Room’
Donald Trump watched the assault live from his Mar-a-Lago residence.
The special forces breached the defense and stormed into the house. Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores tried to escape to the armored security room.
The capture team had gas cutters with them, but their use was unnecessary — the dictator was seized before he could lock himself in.
Evacuation and Consequences
The group's exit was accompanied by numerous shootouts; however, no American military personnel was killed, only a few were wounded. The number of casualties among Venezuelans is currently unknown.
At 3:29 AM local time, the group was already returning to the US, and later a photo of Maduro with his eyes covered aboard the USS Iwo Jima amphibious ship appeared. Now he awaits trial and ‘American justice’.
Captured in Venezuela, Maduro has already been brought to New York and is expected to stand trial shortly.
This operation marked a significant break in relations between the US and Venezuela, opening a new chapter in the history of international politics in the region. The events surrounding Maduro's capture sparked widespread resonance and discussion among political experts, especially regarding their impact on the country's future.
