Maduro urged Trump to stop the war and start negotiations: details of the conversation.
Address by Nicolas Maduro to the US President
According to ТСН: The leader of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, urged US President Donald Trump to end the "illegal incitement of war" and to start "serious negotiations." He stated this in a pre-recorded interview for state television.
"What are they striving for? Clearly, they are trying to impose their will through threats, intimidation, and force," emphasized the Venezuelan president.
Maduro refuted US accusations that label him as the head of a "narcoterrorist" organization supplying drugs to America. He asserts that the true goal of Washington is to seize control over Venezuela's resources, including oil, gold, and rare earth metals.
"We must start serious conversations based on facts. If they want to seriously discuss an agreement regarding the fight against drug trafficking, we are ready... If they want Venezuelan oil, Venezuela is ready to accept American investments, like those of Chevron, whenever, wherever, and however they want to carry them out," said Maduro.
These comments echo previous statements by the Venezuelan president about his willingness to engage in dialogue with Trump, despite the increased pressure from the White House.
Maduro also noted that he last spoke with the American president during a short "heartfelt and respectful" conversation on November 21.
"This conversation was even pleasant, but since then, the developments have not been pleasant," he said, calling for "dialogue and diplomacy" between Washington and Caracas.
Information about the bombing of Venezuela
Reports have emerged regarding the bombing of Venezuela by the US. The southern part of Caracas has remained without electricity, and Chinook helicopters have been spotted over the city. To the south of the capital lies a large military base, and there are also reports of strikes on the port of Caracas and Margarita Island in the Caribbean, where numerous military facilities are located.
The situation surrounding Venezuela continues to be tense, particularly in the context of persistent efforts of international pressure from the US. The actions of both countries significantly affect the internal political situation in Venezuela, which in turn may influence stability in the region.
