"The future is being written in Ukraine, not in Russia,"stated António Costa. He further asserted that
"the only way forward to a just and lasting peace"is through the recognition of Ukraine's rights.
The event was also attended by Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Olena Zelenska, who honored the memory of fallen defenders. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte confirmed that
"the Alliance will continue to support Ukraine"— Mark Rutte. He noted that 'Russia cannot gain advantages at the negotiating table when it is losing so much on the battlefield.' This high-level visit underscores the West's political commitment as the conflict enters another year.
