The detention of Maduro will not affect the war: Knyazhytskyi named the key factor.
According to ТСН: The US attack on Venezuela and the detention of Nicolas Maduro are not linked to the oil and gas struggle and will not affect global energy prices, nor the course of the war between Russia and Ukraine. An important factor for Ukraine's future remains the state of the Russian economy and the support of Western allies.
According to the journalist and deputy, Venezuela currently produces only about 1% of the world's oil, which is significantly less than Russia. Even if the US fully controls Venezuelan oil production, it will not have a significant impact on the global market.
Knyazhytskyi emphasizes that although Venezuela has large oil reserves, their development will require dozens of years and hundreds of billions of dollars in investments, so a quick effect should not be expected. In the short term, the removal of the Maduro regime will not change oil prices or the course of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
In his opinion, the critical state of the Russian economy, which is exhausted by war and international sanctions, plays a key role. It is becoming increasingly difficult for the Kremlin to finance military actions, procure weapons, and support the military-industrial complex.
“The next year is effectively the last when Russia can still continue the war with relatively little pain for its own society,” Knyazhytskyi notes, adding that Russian elites are already realizing the futility of both the war and the isolated existence of the country.
In his opinion, Ukraine's fate does not depend on who takes charge of Venezuela, but on how effectively the state can defend itself on the battlefield and how stable the assistance from the European Union will be.
The capture of Maduro is also seen as a signal for authoritarian regimes: no dictator can feel safe if they destroy democracy and obstruct the interests of other states.
“Ukraine can only be strong and independent if it builds a powerful democratic society and integrates into a democratic European Union,” Knyazhytskyi concluded.
Earlier, it was reported that the operation to capture Nicolas Maduro had been planned for months, and American special forces were training on an exact copy of his residence.
Thus, the situation in Venezuela remains under close scrutiny from the international community, as the events there could have far-reaching consequences not only for the region but also for global political and economic stability. At the same time, Ukraine should focus on its own security and strengthening democratic values to withstand the challenges it faces.
