Meta plans to create a personal superintelligence: what does it mean for millions.
According to Vox: One of the most famous stories about Steve Jobs that tech professionals love to share is his 1983 speech to then-Pepsi president John Sculley, proposing to join Apple: 'Do you want to spend the rest of your life selling sugary water, or do you want a chance to change the world?'
After listening to Mark Zuckerberg's vision, the head of Meta, about how artificial intelligence 'superintelligence' will change the world, my main reaction was: man, this guy just wants to sell us sugary water.
'Personal superintelligence'? Maybe just 'superintelligence', that's better
In a video on Instagram (of course) last week, Zuck explains that Meta's goal is to develop a 'personal superintelligence for everyone', accessible through devices like 'glasses that can see what we see, hear what we hear, and interact with us throughout the day.'
However, the lack of ambition in Zuckerberg's appeals becomes even more noticeable when considering his relatively ambitious spending on artificial intelligence.
Moreover, it is discussed that this idea has both benefits and drawbacks, and Zuckerberg's position on the future development of artificial intelligence is analyzed.
After reviewing Mark Zuckerberg's vision regarding artificial intelligence and Meta's goal of creating a 'personal superintelligence', the question remains as to how realistic and ambitious these plans are, as well as how they may influence future trends in this field.Read also
