Odesa Hit by Major Drone Assault

According to Novyny.live: On January 17, 2024, the city of Odesa was struck by a large-scale drone attack, resulting in significant damage to residential buildings and the disruption of heating services. The assault ignited a gas pipe and set four parked cars ablaze. The ensuing fire, covering an area of about 50 square meters, destroyed balconies on the third and fourth floors and an apartment on the second floor of a five-story building.

The building's facade was partially destroyed across an area of approximately 100 square meters. The blast wave damaged eight vehicles, four of which were completely burned out. Three people were injured at the scene, and emergency services evacuated 130 residents. This attack on a key Ukrainian port city is part of a wider pattern of strikes targeting civilian infrastructure. As a result of the incident, heating was cut off to about 60 residential buildings, and it took nearly a full day to restore the heat supply.
