Widespread Russian Military Attacks Target Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: On March 7, Russian military forces carried out a large-scale assault across multiple Ukrainian regions, resulting in civilian deaths, injuries, and significant damage to infrastructure. The attacks, which began overnight, hit numerous settlements, including Zaporizhzhia, where an infant was wounded. These strikes are part of a continued pattern of attacks on civilian areas that has characterized the conflict.
In the Zaporizhzhia region alone, Russian troops launched 760 strikes on 41 settlements over the course of the day. The Dnipropetrovsk region reported one person killed and another wounded. In the Nikopol district, a 48-year-old man was killed and a 69-year-old woman was injured. Four people were wounded in the Sumy region.
Widespread Impact Across the Country
In Kharkiv, seven people were killed after a strike hit an apartment building. Regional authorities, including Ivan Fedorov and Oleksandr Ganja, reported threats from attack drones on the evening of March 6 and confirmed subsequent casualties from shelling, with one person killed and another injured. Separately, in the Khmelnytskyi region, windows were damaged at a railway station building in an attack, as reported by Serhii Tyurin.
Beyond the immediate casualties, the attacks also created hazardous environmental conditions. By the morning of March 7, harmful levels of air pollution were observed in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, and Lviv. The ongoing Russian aggression continues to inflict a severe toll on Ukraine's civilian population and critical infrastructure. The scale and geographic spread of these attacks indicate an intensification of hostilities, with serious implications for regional security and stability. The international community continues to monitor the situation closely, particularly the growing humanitarian consequences for affected areas.
