Strike of the 'Oreshnik' on Lviv Oblast: Why Putin Intimidates Europe and Signals Trump.
According to ТСН: Russian occupiers continue to terrorize Ukrainian cities, trying to leave the population without heat and water. The strike on Lviv Oblast using the 'Oreshnik' missile has not only a military but also a deep political goal.
Political Motives of the Attacks
Experts estimate that while the first attack on Dnipro was a demonstration of technological capabilities, the attack on Lviv Oblast aims to intimidate Europeans.
"This is last but not least an attempt to scare Ukrainians. Ukrainians are forced to capitulate by all means available. But intimidating Europeans is what Putin aims for,"
- emphasizes the journalist. Putin understands the complexity of the economic situation in Russia and the significant losses on the front, so he wants to end the war on the conditions of Kyiv's capitulation.
At the same time, the determination of the European Union, particularly the allocation of a grant of $90 billion, came as an unexpected surprise for him. This funding will allow Ukraine to hold out for the next two years, preventing the Kremlin from realizing its plans.
Tomatoes in the Context of International Politics
The expert notes that the strike with the 'Oreshnik' is a preventive step against the possible deployment of European troops in Ukraine, even in the event of a ceasefire. Putin wants Europeans to be so frightened by the time negotiations take place that they do not make such decisions.
This is also a clear signal for US President Donald Trump.
"This is a signal to Trump - so that the American president does not even think about agreeing to any peace terms with Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders. He should realize: negotiations should only be with Putin and solely on his terms,"
Why We Should Not Fear the Kremlin
Although analysts warn about the enemy's inadequacy, it is important to remember that history shows: Putin only understands the language of power.
The expert cites examples of Kremlin allies such as Bashar Assad, Nicolas Maduro, and Viktor Yanukovych, noting that during critical moments when real force was applied against them, Putin could not help them.
The expert emphasizes that when attempts are made to negotiate with Moscow, it launches missiles, while when speaking the language of sanctions and pressure, it retreats.
Recently, the Russian army launched another massive strike with missiles and drones on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Several regions were under fire: Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk, leading to the destruction of residential and civilian objects.
According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, the missile strike on the postal terminal in Korotych in Kharkiv Oblast claimed the lives of four people. The situation remains most challenging in Kyiv Oblast, where hundreds of thousands of families are left without electricity, and resilience points are operating in the communities.
In this difficult period for Ukraine, international support is especially important. The touching gesture of the European Union in the form of financial aid indicates the readiness of allies to help in the fight against aggression. This could become a decisive factor in continuing resistance and stabilizing the situation at the front.
