At the 'Karpaty Comfort' hotel in the village of Slavske in Lviv region, 17 children were hospitalized with signs of poisoning. A criminal investigation has been opened in this regard, reported the Department of Civil Protection of the Lviv Regional State Administration on August 19.

Poisoning of children in Lviv region

As of the morning of August 19, the number of hospitalized has increased to 17. All victims are children, their condition is assessed as moderate. Epidemiologists are establishing the causes and source of the infection.

The mass poisoning occurred on August 17 at the 'Karpaty Comfort' hotel in Slavske. That evening, 12 children with symptoms of acute intestinal infection were hospitalized.

The police reported that a criminal case has been initiated regarding the food poisoning of children for violating sanitary norms related to the prevention of infectious diseases and mass poisonings. The facts suggest penalties in the form of fines, arrest, or imprisonment.

Earlier, on August 5, there was also a mass poisoning at the Friendly Camp children's camp in Slavske, as a result of which 35 people were affected. Doctors diagnosed them with acute intestinal infection, and the police initiated an investigation.
