Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Yuriy Skrut.
Ukrainian defender Yuriy Skrut from Lviv, who fought against the invaders in Kharkiv region as part of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, died on March 30, 2025.
Yuriy Skrut was born on December 23, 1994, in Lviv. He studied at secondary school No. 97 in Lviv and obtained an education at the Lviv Vocational College of the Lviv National University of Nature Management.
After finishing his studies, he worked in the restaurant industry in Lviv. He also actively engaged in martial arts and athletics. According to relatives, Yuriy was a strong, brave, selfless, and just person, a generous and reliable friend, son, and brother.
After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, he decided to leave his job in Germany and return to his homeland to fight the Russian aggressor. He participated in heavy battles near Maryinka as part of the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade and survived after sustaining serious injuries.
Yuriy had the opportunity to serve the state in the rear, but he consciously decided to return to the front line. In the last period, he fought against the invaders in Kharkiv region as part of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was awarded by the military command for personal courage on the battlefield. The life of the Ukrainian warrior ended on March 30, 2025.
Yuriy Skrut was buried at Lychakiv Cemetery.
He left behind his parents, grandparents, sister, relatives, friends, and brothers.
'Glavkom' joins the minute of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died in the struggle for the homeland. We remember those who fell at the hands of Russian invaders, light candles of remembrance, and bow our heads in mourning during the national minute of silence, honoring the bright memory of the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military personnel, civilians, and children, all who died in the fight against Russian occupants and as a result of the attack of hostile troops on Ukrainian cities and villages.
