In Rivne, starting from October 1, travel in minibuses will cost 18 hryvnias: details of the decision.
According to inkorr.com:
Starting from October 1, 2025, prices for public transport fares in Rivne will increase: a ticket for minibuses will cost 18 hryvnias, and in trolleybuses – up to 14 hryvnias. Discounts will continue to be provided for privileged categories, including schoolchildren. The decision was adopted by the executive committee of the Rivne City Council on September 17 due to rising fuel costs and inflation.
New transport fares
The transport fares in Rivne are as follows:
- Buses and minibuses: 18 UAH for a single ticket.
- Trolleybuses:
- 12 UAH – with a transport card;
- 13 UAH – with a bank card payment;
- 14 UAH – with cash payment.
A 50% discount will apply for schoolchildren: 9 hryvnias in minibuses and buses, 7 hryvnias in trolleybuses.
“The change in fare will not affect privileged passenger categories in any way. Schoolchildren will continue to be transported at half price,” emphasized Viktor Shakiryzan, the secretary of the Rivne City Council.
Previously, the fare in trolleybuses cost 8 hryvnias, and in minibuses and buses – 12 hryvnias.
Changes in household waste management fees
From October 1, the fee for household waste management will also increase. The new rates are as follows:
- In Rivne:
- 47.80 UAH (including VAT) – for apartment buildings;
- 50.79 UAH (including VAT) – for private houses.
- In the village of Kvasyliv:
- 39.71 UAH (including VAT) – for apartment buildings;
- 36.64 UAH (including VAT) – for private houses.
Changes in tariffs are due to rising logistics costs and the need to modernize communal services. The city authorities note that the increase in tariffs is necessary to ensure the stable operation of the transport system and update the trolleybus fleet. The introduction of differentiated fares in trolleybuses and encouragement of cashless payments aims to reduce cash circulation and simplify accounting.
The previous increase in tariffs in Rivne occurred in 2023 amid economic challenges caused by the war and energy crisis.
Increasing tariffs for transportation and waste disposal is part of the overall price increase for services in Ukraine. The city authorities claim that these measures will help maintain the quality of transport services and improve environmental conditions in the region. It is expected that the new tariffs will also influence residents' behavior regarding payment methods and the use of public transport.
