Micah Richards quit alcohol due to back injury: What happened.
Micah Richards quit alcohol
According to The Sun: Micah Richards decided to quit alcohol to lose weight after a back injury.
The former Manchester City and England defender, now a commentator, shared his decision on the podcast 'The Rest is Football' with Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker, adding that he received an epidural injection.
SplashDuring a joking conversation on the show, Shearer noted: “He’s in your living room, I feel red wine later, guys…”
Alan, former host of Match of the Day, remarked: “He’s not drinking! I opened a very nice bottle, as you can see here.”
Richards, 37, said: “On a serious note, Al, I’ve put on too much weight.”
Shearer, 55, couldn’t help but joke: “I was starting to think about it, actually, I was thinking it.”
But Richards clarified: “He’s terrible, isn’t he? I drink and don’t exercise the next day, I had a back issue, and I got an epidural injection. So my back, essentially, is finished, I got an epidural, I’m not drinking now and I feel great. I feel like I have more energy.”
Shearer joked: “Oh no, that’s not a good sign if you have more energy, darn, you don’t lack it already?”
In his playing days, Richards was known for his impressive physique.

Fans are impressed with Richards' bicep size, and he is often seen in tight jackets when appearing on CBS Sports during Champions League coverage.
Richards' refusal of alcohol shows his commitment to maintaining his health and fitness after injuries. This decision might inspire other athletes and individuals seeking change in their lives.
Meanwhile, his effective use of the epidural injection raises hopes for a full recovery. Richards continues to actively engage in the sports community, setting an example for the younger generation.
