The Ministry of Defense announced how drone manufacturers can gain an advantage in state procurement.
Ukrainian drone manufacturers that increase the share of localization in production will gain advantages in state procurement. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to the chief director of the Procurement Policy Department of the defense agency, Gleb Kanievsky, they are interested in maximizing the localization percentage. To achieve this, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted the 'Victory Weapon' resolution at the end of 2024.
According to this document, manufacturers of bombing and reconnaissance drones, if localization constitutes more than 50% of the total cost of all components, will be able to receive guaranteed long-term contracts from the state for three, five, or ten years.
However, full localization of drone production is impossible, noted the Ministry of Defense.
It is reminded that in January, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated that this year our country plans to produce about 3,000 cruise missiles and drone missiles, as well as no less than 30,000 long-range drones.
'Glavkom' also reported that in February the Ministry of Defense approved and allowed the use in the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of domestic unmanned aerial complexes Zeus and Hades.
