Ministry of Defense tests new samples of uniforms for female servicemembers
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has begun testing new samples of autumn and winter uniforms for female servicemembers, the ministry's press service reports.
According to the press service, field trials of autumn uniforms for women are currently underway, and samples of winter uniforms are ready for research testing.
Deputy Minister of Defense Serhiy Melnyk noted that conducting tests is slowed down due to the low interest of manufacturers in providing test samples.
The ministry also takes into account the results of testing summer uniforms and underwear in field conditions. It is planned to make changes to the technical specifications of individual clothing elements based on feedback from female servicemembers.
The need for women's bulletproof vests that would meet protection requirements while reducing their weight was also expressed.
Recall that in February of this year, female servicemembers received sets of summer field uniforms designed with consideration of women's anthropometric parameters.
In July 2023, an updated summer uniform for female servicemembers was presented, and in August, an exemplar sample of the summer field suit for female servicemembers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was approved.
