Ukraine's Peace Talks Focus on Substance, Not Schedules.
Statement from Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson
According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Georgiy Tykhyi, stated that Ukraine's priority in peace negotiations is achieving concrete outcomes, not adhering to arbitrary deadlines. He affirmed Ukraine's readiness to take steps to end the war but identified Russia's stance as the principal obstacle to progress.
Ukraine's position is straightforward: we want the war to end as soon as possible. This is about the result, not about deadlines.

International Efforts and Support
Tykhyi also addressed media speculation about deadlines for signing peace agreements, reiterating that the issue lies not with Ukraine but with Russia. 'The problem is not Ukraine—the problem is Russia. Therefore, we are talking about applying pressure specifically on Russia,' the spokesperson added.
Ukraine remains prepared for concrete measures to establish a ceasefire. In the context of international efforts, it is notable that former U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration supported new sanctions and increased defense spending among NATO countries. This demonstrates active international backing for Ukraine's pursuit of peace. A planned negotiation session on U.S. soil could also become a significant step in the conflict resolution process.
The Foreign Ministry's statement underscores that progress in peace talks for Ukraine hinges on Russia's willingness to engage in constructive dialogue. Ukraine's position remains consistent: securing tangible results is more critical than adhering to a timeline. While international support, particularly from the United States, could play a decisive role in creating conditions for a peaceful settlement, a fundamental shift in the aggressor's position remains the key prerequisite for any lasting resolution.
