After the approval of the law on strengthening mobilization, the number of people wishing to adopt a child tripled. This was reported by Natalia Ibragimova, director of the Kyiv Regional Social Services Center.

According to her, they used to train 80-120 people annually, which averaged 50 families. In 2022, 320 candidates were trained, and in 2023 this trend became even more noticeable. After it became known that under the new mobilization law, guardians and foster parents can count on a deferral, there was a real surge. By July 31, certificates had been issued to 200 people, 170 people continue to be trained, and 100 candidates are waiting for their turn.

Ibragimova noted that she personally checks the document packages submitted for adoption. She noted that earlier many childless families turned to them, but now the situation has changed. Now 50% of candidates who already have two children want a third. At the same Time, there are stories when a woman is pregnant with a second child but still submits documents for adoption.

The director also said that there are cases when men claim custody of a child. Most of them are normal families with two children. The wife writes a statement that she does not mind her husband becoming The Guardian, and they submit documents wishing to adopt a 5-6-year-old girl. And when they are asked why the husband wants to become the guardian and not the wife, they answer that they have the right to do so.

Ibragimova positively answered the question about the connection with the CCC, but noted that she does not abuse it. She checks each person and communicates with them, as well as consults with psychologists to determine if there is a need for a child for these people.

We remind you that after the adoption of the law on strengthening mobilization, some changes were made regarding the right to a deferral for parents of many children. In particular, the deferral will not apply to many women and men who have arrears in child support payments, the total amount of which exceeds the amount of payments for three months.

Subsequently, it became known that an investigation was launched following a statement from the Ombudsperson's Office about the illegal departure abroad of relatives of the leadership of the Children's Services. However, the Children's Services and Family Department of the KCSA stated that the information about sending relatives abroad is not confirmed by concrete facts.
