Mobilization in Ukraine: how many thousands of draft evaders were delivered to the TCС in a year.
Ukrainians are aware of the active searches for draft evaders in Kyiv
In the capital of Ukraine, searches are ongoing for citizens who evade military service during mobilization. Representatives from the preventive activity management of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv explained that the police have the right to detain and deliver individuals who commit administrative offenses related to evading military service. Since the beginning of 2024, more than 83,000 requests regarding the location and delivery of individuals in search have been received by the Territorial Center for Staffing and Social Support (TCC and SP). By this time, the whereabouts of approximately 13,000 individuals have been established and they have been delivered to TCC and SP. However, about 70,000 individuals remain wanted. The police do not disclose specific methods for searching for draft evaders but state that they use all available means to detect such individuals.
The number of employees involved in the search and detention of draft evaders remains confidential and is not subject to disclosure. This is due to the confidentiality regime established by the city administration's decree. Earlier, Ukrainian authorities approved exemptions from mobilization for a certain category of men.
