The aircraft made an emergency landing in Toulouse, France, to remove the disruptor.
Video from the square in Toulouse shows four police officers carrying the man, who was lying unconscious with handcuffs on.
The man was thrown onto the pavement while other police officers stood guard.
Wearing a white t-shirt and orange shorts, he reportedly shouted, “I want to go,” before trying to approach the plane's doors.
Other passengers, realizing his intentions, began to restrain him, leading to a fight.
The man reportedly spat and punched other passengers until he was pinned to the floor.
To prevent further escape attempts, his legs were tied with a seatbelt.
Afterward, he reportedly tried to headbutt a pensioner sitting nearby.
Some passengers started crying and experienced panic attacks due to his aggression.
One witness noted: “The whole incident was very traumatic. The man entered the restroom, then tried to open one of the emergency exit doors. He then shouted 'I want to go,' which provoked a fight.”
Fellow passenger David Malone shared: “The fight lasted about 30 minutes, and it took about three people to restrain one man. It was horrific, blood everywhere, people screaming and crying.”
After the disruptor was removed, the aircraft continued its flight to Girona but arrived with a two-hour delay.
A Ryanair representative commented: “This flight from Bournemouth to Girona (September 4) was diverted to Toulouse after one passenger became aggressive on board. The crew called the police, who met the aircraft upon arrival in Toulouse and removed this passenger.”
