Frosty weather is expected in most of Ukraine

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, frosty weather is expected in Ukraine over the weekend and at the beginning of next week. With the exception of a slight snowfall in the eastern regions on Sunday, February 23 and 24, no precipitation is predicted for most of the country. It is expected that the roads will be icy.

The temperature forecast raises concerns

Variable winds at a speed of 3-8 m/s are expected on Sunday, February 23. The air temperature at night will be -13 to -18°C, and in the northern regions it may drop to -21 to -23°C. Temperatures in the western regions and Crimea will be slightly higher, from -8 to -13°C.

During the day, the temperature will rise to -1 to -6°C, and in the western regions will be from 0 to +5°C. In Kyiv, no precipitation is expected, but there will be icy conditions. Night temperatures are expected to be -13 to -15°C, and during the day around 0°C.

According to the Central Geophysical Observatory, the warmest day in Kyiv on February 23 was in 2016, when the temperature reached +11.9°C, and the coldest was in 1945, when the thermometer dropped to -21.7°C.

On Monday, February 24, the wind in Ukraine will change to a northern direction, while in the western part of the country, a southern wind at a speed of 3-8 m/s will prevail. The temperature at night will be from -8 to -13°C (in the northeastern regions from -11 to -16°C, in the western and southern regions from -5 to -10°C).

During the day, temperatures are expected to range from -3°C to +2°C, in the western regions from +1 to +6°C, and in the eastern regions from -1 to -6°C. No precipitation is expected in the capital either. Some roads will be icy. The wind will be northern at a speed of 3-8 m/s. The temperature at night will be -10 to -12°C, and during the day it will be around 0°C.
