Russia's primary objective in this sector is to advance closer to the city of Zaporizhzhia to bring it within range of its artillery and rocket fire.

Stretching over 1,100 kilometers, the Zaporizhzhia front remains a critical zone of the war. In late December, Russian forces breached Ukrainian defenses near Huliaipole, indicating an intensification of fighting in the region.
