The Ministry of Health approved new regulations for medical examinations of employees: what will change.
According to inkorr.com: The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has approved a new regulation on mandatory medical examinations for certain categories of employees according to the order dated 08.09.2025 No.1393. Although the document has not yet come into effect, it may be implemented at any moment after official publication.
Who do the new rules apply to?
The changes will affect all types of employers – legal entities, individual entrepreneurs, and hired employees. They cover four main categories of employees who are subject to mandatory medical examinations.
Who is under mandatory control?
- The first category - employees working in hard, harmful, or dangerous conditions who have contact with various harmful factors.
- The second category includes employees required to undergo specialized selection.
- The third category covers employees who have not reached the age of 21.
- The fourth category - employees who work night shifts.
The financing of medical examinations is fully the responsibility of the employer, who is also obligated to plan medical examinations in advance by compiling lists of employees who are to undergo them.
Procedure for undergoing medical examinations
Employees undergoing medical examinations must provide the medical commission with the necessary documents. After the examination, they receive conclusions confirming their professional suitability. The results of medical examinations are also forwarded to the relevant institutions for further action.
The new order introduces an effective system for medical control over the health of employees and requires employers to approach this process responsibly.
The introduction of this regulation is an important step towards improving working conditions and health for Ukrainian workers. Mandatory medical examinations will allow for timely detection of possible health problems and prevent their further development. This, in turn, will positively impact employee productivity and the overall state of society.
