Every day at 9 AM, Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Pavlo Novak.

24-year-old soldier Pavlo Novak died fighting for an independent Ukraine on October 4, 2024, in a battle on the Kharkiv direction. This was reported by Rivne City Council.

Pavlo Novak was born on July 1, 2000, in the village of Verba in the Dubno district. He graduated from the local school and then studied to become a heat engine driver and a mechanic locksmith of moving maintenance stock at the Zdolbuniv Higher Vocational School of Railway Transport.

«Very friendly, never refused to help – no matter how well he knew the person, Pavlo was always ready to help everyone. My brother loved cars very much, especially his BMW – he dreamed about it so much, it was his diamond, his treasure. He invested his soul into it, as he bought it himself and improved it on his own, without anyone's help», – says the Hero's brother Yuriy.

The willingness to stand on guard for the peace of his loved ones led Pavlo to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

«Since childhood, our parents taught us to love our country, so we both dreamed of becoming soldiers to defend the Homeland. The dream became a reality as soon as Pavlo went for mandatory military service – he immediately signed a contract with the Armed Forces. So, in fact, since the summer of 2020, he has been defending the country, and I am also a soldier», – continues Yuriy.

Military service was not just a calling for Pavlo but a life's work. He repeatedly told his family that he was willing to do everything so that his future children would not see the horrors of war and live in a peaceful country.

Thus, as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Pavlo participated in all significant events of the Russian-Ukrainian war: the liberation of Kyiv region, Kharkiv region, Kherson region and the defense of Soledar, Bakhmut, Kupiansk and others.

For his dedication to the people of Ukraine, Junior Sergeant Pavlo Novak was awarded the «Golden Cross», the medal «Honor, Glory, State», the «Cossack Cross», an honorary pistol from the Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense and a watch from the President of Ukraine, as well as a Commemorative Badge of the Joint Forces.

The 24-year-old Pavlo loved Ukraine, his parents, and his two brothers deeply. In defending them, he gave his life on October 4, 2024, in a battle on the Kharkiv direction.

The farewell with the hero took place on October 10 on Independence Square in Rivne. The defender was buried in his native village of Verba.

«Glavkom» joins the minute of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died in the struggle for the Homeland. We remember those killed by the hands of Russian invaders, light candles of remembrance and bow our heads in sorrow during the national minute of silence, honoring the bright memory of the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all the military, civilians, and children, all those who died in the struggle against the Russian occupiers and as a result of the enemy's attacks on Ukrainian cities and villages.
