According to The Sun: A mother and her two daughters tragically died after being found in a sewage pit, likely as a result of a murder-suicide.

The woman and the children were found on Monday after their father called the police to report their disappearance.

A murder investigation has been opened by the police

On Sunday night, the father called emergency services, reporting 'worrying' signs that the children may have fallen into the sewage pit at their home in the small village of Helenów Pierwszy, located in western-central Poland.

To conduct the rescue operation, four fire units and a diving team were dispatched, but unfortunately, their efforts were too late.

Two men retrieved the mother and one child before emergency services arrived, while the other girl was rescued later.

The 32-year-old mother was pronounced dead at the scene, both daughters were taken to the hospital, but unfortunately also died.

The Polish edition of Fakt reports that the mother likely intended to drown her daughters.

The report stated that a suicide note was found in the home.

According to a neighbor, the tragedy occurred after the woman sent her husband to the pharmacy.

'I can't believe this happened. I heard that the woman's husband went to the pharmacy for medication because she sent him.'

'And when he returned, it had all already happened.'

A local resident, Andrzelika Kamińska, noted that 'everyone in our village is in shock and deep mourning.'

The prosecutor's office in Konin has launched a murder investigation.

An autopsy and toxicology tests are scheduled for Thursday.

'We can state with full confidence that we have reasonable suspicion that a crime has been committed in this case,'
