The Ministry of Internal Affairs has suspended National Guard officials due to NABU searches
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a statement regarding the suspension of six officials in the logistical support department of the Main Directorate of the National Guard. This occurred against the backdrop of searches conducted by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine involving National Guard officials who may be linked to corruption schemes.
6 officials from the management level of the logistical support department of the Main Directorate of the National Guard have been suspended from their positions. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has appointed an internal investigation.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also provides full cooperation with the NABU investigation in this case. The investigation concerns possible corrupt violations in the procurement of goods, works, and services for the National Guard, including bribes and embezzlement of state funds.
Criminal proceedings and articles of the Criminal Code
According to media reports, NABU detectives are acting within the framework of criminal proceedings under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including misappropriation of property, legalization of income obtained by criminal means, and acceptance of unlawful benefits.
Currently, the investigation is ongoing, and other details of the case are not disclosed.
