The Minister of Foreign Affairs simplifies access to consular services for Ukrainians abroad
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, announced the implementation of the e-Consul system, which will simplify access to consular services for Ukrainians abroad by 2025. According to him, Ukrainians will be able to receive notarization services directly at diplomatic missions abroad, which will help them save time and effort. The new system also foresees the introduction of digital services that will focus on the most popular services for Ukrainians abroad. This will allow receiving state services quickly and conveniently, similar to the services of the 'Dii' portal.
Additionally, starting this February, Ukrainians will be able to receive foreign passports via courier delivery in cooperation with 'Nova Poshta'. Now there is no need to visit diplomatic missions twice and spend time in line to obtain a passport. All one needs to do is fill in the data on the 'Dii' portal, come in person to provide biometric data, and then receive the passport by mail.
Almost until the end of 2025, it is planned to introduce several more services. In the spring, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to start issuing driver's licenses abroad. There are also plans to launch a comprehensive service for registering the birth of children abroad and the ability to apply for a tax number (RNOCPP) and ID card at Ukrainian diplomatic missions.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the provision of public services and consular actions through the Unified State Web Portal and the 'e-Consul' system.
