Social pension — who receives it and what will the amount be in August.
Pensions in Ukraine must meet certain requirements regarding age and insurance experience. Some Ukrainians cannot fulfill these conditions, but can still receive support from the state.
Who is entitled to a social pension
Citizens of Ukraine who have reached retirement age but do not have enough insurance experience can receive a social pension. Starting from 2025, to retire at the age of 60, one needs at least 32 years of experience. Otherwise, a pension can be received at the ages of 63 to 65, depending on the length of experience.
What is the amount and how to apply for a social pension
The amount of social pension is determined as the difference between the minimum subsistence level for the disabled and the average income of the family. The payment cannot exceed a certain amount. To receive a social pension, one must contact the local social protection authority with the necessary documents.
Ukrainians who cannot retire due to age or experience have the right to receive a social pension. This helps provide support for such people in old age who do not have a guaranteed source of income.
