The system in question is the Entry/Exit System (EES), which will require foreign nationals, regardless of visa status, to undergo immigration control and enter their biometric data, such as fingerprints and facial photographs. France, Germany, and the Netherlands, which have the highest passenger traffic, have not yet completed national-level testing of the system. Some countries are considering piloting the system only in certain areas.
