In the village of Puzhnyky in the Ternopil region, joint exhumation works have been completed with the participation of Ukrainian and Polish specialists. During the expedition, the remains of 42 people were found, reported Andriy Nadzhios, Deputy Minister of Culture of Ukraine.

"As of yesterday evening, we received information from our part of the Ukrainian expedition that the remains of 42 people have been discovered. That is, they have already been retrieved. We were sent photographs showing that the work has been completed," said Andriy Nadzhios.

According to him, the next step will be identification, and DNA tests will be conducted on the territory of Poland. A joint report will also be prepared by the parties, which will be signed by the specialists who worked in the territory of Puzhnyky to avoid possible falsifications.

Permission for Work in Polish Graves

It should be noted that Ukraine has granted permission to exhume the remains of Polish victims of the Volhynian tragedy in the village of Uhly in the Rivne region at the request of Karolina Romanowska. A sign has also appeared on Mount Monastery in Poland, presenting a negative depiction of UPA fighters, which provoked a reaction from Ukrainian and Polish officials.
