The Security Service of Ukraine in the Vinnytsia region is currently reviewing the medical records of some individuals suspected of fraud related to obtaining fake disability group certificates. This information was reported by the publication 'Glavkom' based on court data. Among these individuals are 24 second and third group disabled persons, some of whom became disabled during martial law, and others who are on lifelong disability registries. According to preliminary data, a scheme for obtaining illegal positive decisions from the medical and social expert commission during the examination of conscripts has been uncovered in Vinnytsia, including medical workers and officials from local health care institutions. The investigation suspects that disability groups may have been purchased to evade service or travel abroad, and members of the medical and social expert commission may also be involved. After the confiscation of medical documents from the disabled, Security Service employees plan to contact the Ukrainian State Research Institute of Medico-Social Problems of Disability to verify the legality of the issuance of disability groups. If violations are found, they will require the cancellation of these groups. Criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding interference with the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations, which is punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to eight years if found guilty. According to the Security Service, the arrested medical schemes and disability groups may have been obtained through bribery to avoid obligations or travel abroad, which poses a serious threat to the country's defense capabilities. Therefore, law enforcement intends to act consistently and thoroughly to ensure legality and justice.
