NABU created a closed system for business: expert revealed the scheme of blocking the SBI.
Criticism of the anti-corruption bodies in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: Viktor Kurtev, an expert in the energy sector, criticized the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), and the High Anti-Corruption Court. He believes that these bodies create a closed business system that complicates the investigation of corruption cases for other law enforcement agencies.
According to him, NABU, having exclusive rights to conduct investigations, hinders agencies like the State Bureau of Investigation and the Security Service of Ukraine.
Kurtev also noted that this system resembles 'NABU's business,' where the same individuals are engaged in investigations, procedural leadership, and issuance of verdicts. Such an approach creates risks of abuses and does not allow other agencies to intervene in the case.
'They caught themselves, which means they... conducted procedural leadership, which means they imprisoned themselves'
The expert reminded of the case of the former deputy minister of energy, which illustrates his position. He also pointed to the connections of NABU director Semen Kryvonis with suspects, which raises doubts about his activities.
'NABU uses all the best corruption practices of Ukraine'
The 'Midas' operation, conducted by NABU and SAP, uncovered an influential criminal organization in the energy sector. Serious figures in the case include Timur Mindich, Igor Mironyuk, and Dmitry Basov, suspected of money laundering.
Kurtev emphasized that anti-corruption bodies in Ukraine have created a closed system that complicates the work of other law enforcement agencies. He also expressed skepticism about the reputation of NABU leadership and noted the importance of the 'Midas' operation as a significant step in the fight against corruption in the country's energy sector.
The situation with anti-corruption bodies in Ukraine remains tense. Criticism from experts like Kurtev indicates serious problems in the interaction between various law enforcement structures. This issue is of particular importance in the fight against corruption, as the coordinated activities of these bodies are necessary for effectively addressing corrupt crimes and improving the investment climate in the country.
