Pawnshop 'Platinum Treasure' Loses License Over Unresolved Violations: NBU Takes Action.
License Revoked for Pawnshop 'Platinum Treasure'
According to Novyny.live: The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has revoked the license of the pawnshop 'Platinum Treasure', effectively shutting down its operations. This decision followed an inspection that uncovered infractions, which the pawnshop's management failed to correct.
On April 20, 2026, the NBU ordered the company 'Pawnshop Platinum Treasure 'Melnychuk and Company'' to fix the identified issues by May 12. However, the pawnshop did not meet these demands, submitting neither documents nor explanations to the central bank. As a result, the license revocation will take effect once the pawnshop is formally notified.
Why Financial Compliance Matters
This move by the NBU underscores the critical need for financial institutions to adhere to regulatory standards and norms.
The case highlights the NBU's intensified oversight of financial entities, aimed at bolstering the stability and transparency of Ukraine's financial system. For clients of the pawnshop, the revocation could mean losing access to their pledged assets. It also serves as a reminder to all market participants of the serious consequences of failing to meet regulatory requirements.
