The largest aid base for refugees from Ukraine in Poland has been left without funding.

Trump's decision to halt aid shocked Poland

Many NGOs in Poland received funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development and the State Department. They worked on protecting human rights, equality, democracy, and media independence. Trump's decision to cut funding was a major blow to these organizations, reports Polish Radio.

One of the largest organizations - 'Mapuj Pomoc', which provided assistance to refugees from Ukraine in Poland, heard about the consequences of the funding cut. 'Due to the sudden halt of aid from the U.S. Agency for International Development, we will have to seek new sources of support,' said Iwona Górka from 'Mapuj Pomoc'.

'We are trying to find solutions right now. It is important to restore funding, and we are working on it. We have already started a dialogue with key partners. We are also considering the possibility of obtaining funding from senators and the government, seeking alternative sources of support,' said Iwona Górka.

The management of SzkoUA also reported financial problems at the school. They are looking for funding sources in Ukraine, Poland, and Europe, but the school's future hangs by a thread.

'The future of the school is at risk. We are in a difficult situation and have to raise the question of whether the school will continue to exist. Unfortunately, we lack the funds to operate,' said the school.
