Ukrainian MP Files 2025 Asset Declaration from Canada, Listing Apartment and $100K Cash.
Oleksandr Kunytskyi: A Declaration and a Life Abroad
According to Novyny.live: Kharkiv MP Oleksandr Kunytskyi, who has left Ukraine, has filed his 2025 asset declaration, stating he is now effectively residing in Canada. The declaration, submitted on March 8, 2025, lists a new property—an apartment in Canada owned by Youna Tian, which Kunytskyi has been using since October 1, 2024. This filing has drawn scrutiny as Ukrainian lawmakers are required to declare their assets and significant income sources annually.
In his declaration, Oleksandr Kunytskyi listed the following properties:
- An apartment and a parking space in Odesa,
- An apartment in Israel,
- Two apartments in Zaporizhzhia.
For 2025, he reported receiving no salary from the Verkhovna Rada. Among his declared assets is $100,000 in cash. Kunytskyi departed from Ukraine on September 23, 2024.
Criminal Proceedings and Public Scrutiny
Kunytskyi is also named in a criminal case initiated by Andrii Kostin, the Prosecutor General, concerning official forgery and the use of falsified documents. He was originally elected as a People's Deputy in the 9th convocation in 2019 from district No. 169 in Kharkiv. This latest declaration has sparked public debate and concern, especially given past scandals involving inaccurate information in officials' asset disclosures.

Given his involvement in an ongoing criminal probe, this situation raises fresh questions about transparency and ethics among Ukrainian politicians and is likely to influence public perception of their accountability to voters.
