The law on NABU and SAP
'European institutions are in shock at how, overnight, a country can turn away from the EU to Russia. The independence of SAP, NABU and other anti-corruption bodies from the authorities, with the Prosecutor General being a representative of the authorities in this case', Fedyna emphasized.
According to the MP, the independence of anti-corruption bodies was an important aspect for Ukraine's European future. Losing this independence could result in the country losing its visa-free regime and association with the EU, as well as stopping financial assistance.
'In this case, we will be left to fend for ourselves. NABU and SAP were markers of our euro-integration and if they are gone, we simply lose our future and that is why people have taken to the streets,' she added.
Earlier, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko explained how NABU and SAP would function after the adoption of Law No. 12414. After this law came into force, Ukrainians expressed their dissatisfaction and took to the streets in various cities. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky also responded to this situation.
