NATO on the brink of collapse: former commander warns of 'last days' of the alliance.

American Admiral James Stavridis stated that the United States' concerns regarding NATO's support could lead to the alliance's collapse.
US President Donald Trump has demanded European leaders increase defense spending, which has created unease among NATO members. Additionally, his conflict with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is also among the causes of concern.
'This is a fundamental question of who you support? Democracy, which is currently under attack, or a dictator in Moscow? This will be a stain on the alliance's heart and will lead to a decrease in trust in the US as a partner,' Admiral Stavridis said.
Stavridis also believes that Russia will welcome the conflict between Zelensky and Trump, as it demonstrates the American president's distrust of Ukraine.
'Donald Trump has made it clear that he does not wish to participate in helping Ukraine in the future,' he added. 'This is a geopolitical mistake of epic proportions. Europe must now wake up and take this on.'
Recently, rumors have spread about the potential withdrawal of the US from NATO, but Admiral Stavridis hopes that the alliance will survive.
Trump calls on NATO members to increase defense spending to two percent of GDP and warns of potential consequences for countries that do not meet these requirements.
French President Emmanuel Macron stated that he is open to discussions about the future of European nuclear deterrence. However, the next German leader Friedrich Merz emphasized the need for rapid independence from the US on defense issues.
