NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated the need to strengthen assistance to Ukraine in confronting Russian aggression.

During a joint press conference with Finnish President Alexander Stubb in Brussels, Rutte emphasized that NATO "must and will do more" to support Ukraine.

According to the Secretary General, Russia continues massive strikes on Ukraine's critical energy infrastructure, which may face the harshest winter since the start of the full-scale invasion. Rutte noted the resilience and courage of the Ukrainian people and its armed forces.

The NATO Secretary General stressed that allies are providing Ukraine with "almost all military assistance," which is critically important for the country's stability and its ability to resist the aggressor. He also announced a future meeting in the "Ramstein" format, where increasing military assistance to Ukraine will be discussed.

Alexander Stubb, for his part, assured of Finland's continued strong support for Ukraine, including its aspiration to join NATO "when the Time is right." The President of Finland emphasized that aid to Ukraine is a matter of both values and security, stressing the inadmissibility of violations of international law.

The meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group chaired by the US President is scheduled for October 12 in Ramstein. However, due to the approaching hurricane "Milton" to Florida, US President Joe Biden postponed his visit to Germany and Angola to monitor the preparation for the hurricane and response to it.
