Small atomic reactors may appear around Chernobyl.

The Ukrainian State Agency for the Management of the Exclusion Zone is considering the possibility of allocating land plots for the placement of small modular reactors by the company 'Energoatom'. An agreement or memorandum is planned to be signed in the near future.

The possibility of launching a solar station at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant site, where the New Safe Confinement arch once stood, is also being considered. Twelve potential sites for the placement of small modular reactors have already been identified, and there are plans for further development of renewable energy in these regions.
