According to Novyny.live: The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has issued commemorative gold coins that hold significant market value. Two notable examples are the 'Chersonesus Taurica' and the 'Bosporan Kingdom' coins. Each coin has a face value of 100 hryvnias and contains 31.1 grams of gold. As of February 2026, the selling price for each of these coins is set at 244,179 hryvnias. These coins are part of a growing global market for state-issued precious metal collectibles.

- It was minted in 2009 with an edition of approximately 3,000 pieces.

- The obverse side depicts a fragment of an ancient structure, a signal bell, ancient Chersonesus coins, a lamp, the small State Emblem of Ukraine, the denomination and metal markings, the NBU Mint's logo, and the year of minting.

The 'Bosporan Kingdom' Coin
- This coin was released in 2010.
- There are 249 units of this coin remaining in stock.
- Its reverse design includes a sailing ship with dolphins and decorative meander ribbons below, alongside stylized ancient city architecture and a golden Panticapaeum coin.
- The obverse shows a fragment of the ruins of Panticapaeum against a city reconstruction, sphinxes, the small State Emblem, the minting year, and a stylized inscription of the denomination.
A single individual is permitted to purchase up to six specimens of each coin type. In a related development, the National Bank of Ukraine also plans to issue a commemorative 'Archangel Michael' coin with a face value of 20 hryvnias in February 2026, with a mintage of 3,500 pieces.
