Coin Design Details
The obverse features the small State Emblem of Ukraine, the inscription 'UKRAINE,' a stylized laurel wreath, the graphic symbol for the hryvnia, a circular 'Ukrainian pixel' pattern, the denomination and metal specifications, the NBU logo, and the minting year. The reverse depicts Archangel Michael, stylized silhouettes of Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) soldiers on the left and right, helicopters and anti-tank hedgehogs, and a circular inscription of a line from Taras Shevchenko's poem 'Haydamaky.'
As of January 28, 2026, the market price for this coin is not yet established. Throughout 2025, the NBU had planned to release 45 new commemorative, investment, and souvenir coins.
The issuance of the 'Archangel Michael' commemorative coin is part of the National Bank of Ukraine's program to promote national symbols and culture through numismatics.
This coin holds not only financial but significant cultural value, as the imagery of Archangel Michael and elements related to the AFU's wartime efforts underscore the patriotic spirit of the Ukrainian people during a challenging period. The NBU's active schedule of new coin releases in 2025 demonstrates its policy of fostering national identity through currency design.
